Gawky, lumpy or ugly, or cure and cuddly, the young of Africa's wild spaces are as varied as that great continent. Their parensts inhabit every possible terrain - desert, sea, savannah, forest, mountain. The wild babies of Young & Wild will experience extreme heat, extreme cold, extreme wet, extreme danger from the moment they're born.

Survivel is the name of their game. Some are born ready to run, like a baby impala. Others take days to find their legs. Some, like newborn chimps, cling to mum - a baby's survival kit - for months. Others instantly go it alone, trusing basic instincts to make their way in life.

For Africa's wild parents range from the caring lioness to the casual chameleon. Each has its own unique way of bringing up baby, protecting it, teaching it the vital rules of life - who's friend, who's enemy, who's family, who's boss.

From birth to bonding, playing, feeding, fighting or fleeing, the young animals of Young & Wild learn the rules of life, until finally they're ready to have babies of their own.
