I Am the Other Woman

Margarethe von Trotta is a prominent director in the New German Cinema movement; she is also one of Germany's best known and most successful female directors. She made her directorial debut in collaboration with Volker Schloendorff, her husband, with The Lost Honor of Katharina Blum (1975). She then directed her own films, including The Second Awakening of Christa Klages (1978) or more recently Rosenstrasse (2003) shown in competition at the Venice International Film Festival. 

 

I Am the Other Woman is a film based on love, sex and mystery. A successful architect, Robert, has a one-night stand with a mysterious lady in red. The next day they meet again, but Carolin is now a corporate lawyer working on a major contract for Robert and strangely, she seems to have no memory of the previous night. Robert soon finds himself sucked into the morbid world of Carolin and her family's dark secrets, where sex and death are never far removed…
