Rory Gallagher - Rock Goes To College

„Rock Goes To College“ (RGTC) was a BBC series that was broadcasted from 1978 until 1981 and has a cult status today. A huge number of at that time aspiring bands such as The Stranglers, U2, AC/DC, Cheap Trick and Police generated legendary shows in front of small audiences at small venues that were broadcasted live on the TV and radio for over 45 minutes – therefore a true challenge. Rory Gallagher took up this challenge in 1979 who was famous for his furious live performances. The Irish blues and rock musician counted as one of the most important and best guitarists of the world. Rover Glover, the bass player and producer of Deep Purple said “With his covered in scratches 61’ Fender Stratocaster he told the world everything he had to tell”. There was no gossip about him, but more than 30 Million records were sold up until his death.
