Ferdinand - Den Vita Älgen

The moose is the most powerful wild animal in our Swedish forests and we are filled with great humility every time we see them striding through the forest. But even more magical is the white moose, found in the Värmland forests, which is completely unique in the world. We get to follow nature filmmaker Ulf Jonasson through the seasons in his magical encounters with Ferdinand, a majestic white moose bull!
Here, being able to follow a moose so closely over time is really something special. There is something so magical about Ulf Jonasson’s
filming, that through the old school of nature storytelling he has captured the moose Ferdinand’s quiet ruminating and at one point even dozing in the soft moss. Ferdinand seems to have taken a certain liking to his companion with a movie camera and willingly poses in all imaginable everyday activities of a moose. However, he seems to protect his privacy when it’s time to rut and eludes his cameraman year after year. It is an incredibly emotional film and a true nature experience to follow Ferdinand.
